Holleran has a quality management system, certificated to ISO 9001:2000, an environmental management system certificated to ISO 14001 and an occupational health and safety system accredited to OHSAS 18001:2007.
The company's philosophy regarding SHEQ is very clear; to ensure that all employees are suitably competent to perform their duties in accordance with these systems and policies.
During induction training all Holleran personnel and subcontractors are made aware of the company's SHEQ policies and systems in the context of the company's commitment to providing our customers with a quality product whilst protecting the environment and the safety of all those affected by our activities.
As part of our occupational health and safety performance measurement, we record our Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) each month. Since 2007 our AFR for reportable incidents has improved from 0.55 to 0.34 in 2008 and 0.09 in 2009. For accidents where less than three days were lost, our AFR has reduced from 4.44 in 2007 to 3.17 in 2008 and 0.78 in 2009.
These figures are a clear demonstration of the continuing commitment Holleran makes to training and of the way we treat health and safety as the top priority.
